Steering towards a Progressive, Nationalistic, People-Centric Public Transportation System: Report on Focus Group Findings from Jeepney Drivers and Commuters in Metro Manila

The landscape of informal public transport has changed since the implementation of a nationwide lockdown in 2020 and the railroading of the PUV Modernization Program. Since last year, thousands of transport workers have gone to the streets to resist the corporate takeover of public transport through massive protests and propaganda exposing the ugly truth. On June 29, the PISTON Land Transport Coalition partnered with Inklusibo to help define the meaning of a progressive, nationalistic, and people-centric public transportation system through a series of focus group discussions with jeepney drivers and commuters.
